Name: Francine “Sarai” Rowe
Age: 27
Profession: Personal Trainer
Noire Care practice: Daily Affirmations, Lifting Heavy Weights, and Taking Risks
How long have you been practicing? 3 years
Who or what introduced you to it? Three years ago, my marriage ended and I was
back at home trying to figure out myself. Growing up in a single parent home and
being the oldest, I spent many years taking care of other people. Then while
married I placed my family needs before my own. This was the first time I took
care of myself and it was strange.
Everyday I started off with a positive affirmation because I was tired of having a
negative mindset. After a couple of months, I started to see my affirmations
paying off. I wasn’t just saying the affirmations I was living the affirmations.
What is the best way for a beginner to get started? Are there low/no cost
ways to getting started? Finding affirmations online or creating your own affirmations are free just takes
some effort to find ones that relate to you.
What kind of personality do you think benefits from this type of practice? Daily
affirmations are for everyone.
How often do you practice? I practice daily
Where do you practice? On my way to work on the train.
Is this something you can enjoy with others or do you prefer the solitude? It’s
nice to do it with others because their is accountability. It’s great to do it
alone as Me time.
How have you changed since adding more time for yourself?
My life has changed drastically, I went on my first solo trip to Egypt. I left the
9 to 5 to become a full time wellness coach. I am now in a amazing and loving
relationship.
Did you grow up witnessing your mother, aunties or any women in your life
consistently taking time to do something just for them?
I didn’t get to witness that growing up.
What would you like for your future daughter, god daughters or nieces to
have learned from you in regards to self care?
That self care is a daily act of self love. Self care doesn’t mean that you are
selfish.
